Core Exercises

Unfortunately, most people focus on getting fit and enhancing their physique but fail to pay attention on strengthening their core through core workouts. Basically, core exercises focus on strengthening the muscle groups around your torso and pelvis, the core. By performing core workouts, you keep fit and build a healthier and stronger body, especially around the hips, abdomen, pelvis and lower back. These are the main parts in your body that does most of the work; hence you should develop them through performing core workouts.

You will discover that once you include core workouts in your daily regimen, performing your daily activities will become easier. Your usual movements that require body strength like using the vacuum cleaner, lifting up kids and bending down, become less stressful. The other advantage of performing core workouts is that you will be able to do more things such as playing softball, tennis and golf among many other sports.

The other huge benefit that you will get with performing core workouts is a better posture; this minimizes muscle injury, strain and pain. However, there is a common misconception that crunches and pushups are the only effective workouts required in strengthening the core, this is not the case since there are a variety of exercises you can do to enhance the core muscles.

Now, the common core exercises include squats, pushups, sit-ups and crunches among others However, you should perform additional workouts such as the bridge, you can begin this exercise by keeping the knees bent and then lying flat on your back. Steadily lift the hips off the floor and tighten your abs, maintain this position for about ten seconds and then return to your initial position.
